Roton Middle School Competition News

 

NPS Stem Expo - Every Roton student will work in a group to design a project that addresses the theme, Engineering for the Future. Work will mostly be done in the science classroom. Using the judging criteria, projects that score the highest will advance to the district-level competition.

 

Where: Brien McMahon High School

When: Sat. March 16, 2019 (8:30am set up, 10am start)

 

Invention Convention - Every Roton student will work independently to identify a real-world problem, generate possible solutions/inventions to solve the problem, build a prototype, and share their thinking and invention process using an Invention Log. Using the judging criteria, projects that score the highest will advance to the state-level competition.

 

**Students interested in competing at the state-level must have projects completed and handed in by Thurs. Mar. 28**

When: Sat. May 4, 2019

 

National History Day - Some Roton students are creating projects for National History Day, including building exhibits, producing documentaries, designing websites, and acting out performances, focusing on the historical accuracy of a topic and its impact. Using the judging criteria, projects that score the highest will advance to the regional-level competition.

 

Where: Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT

When: Sat. April 6, 2019
